BMSP - Bachelor of Medical Science (Medicine Pathway)

This program comprises 24 units.

Progression to the UQ Doctor of Medicine

Students must successfully complete the 16-unit UQ Pre-Medicine Pathway component of the Bachelor of Medical Science within two years.

Students who successfully complete the 16-unit UQ Pre-Medicine Pathway component, achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0, and satisfy the entry requirements for the UQ Doctor of Medicine (MD) are eligible for guaranteed progression to the MD.

Completion of the Bachelor of Medical Science

Students progressing to the UQ Doctor of Medicine will be awarded credit for successful completion of MEDI7100 towards the Bachelor of Medical Science.

Students who do not meet progression requirements following completion of the 16-unit UQ Pre-Medicine Pathway component, or who elect not to continue into the UQ Doctor of Medicine, must complete the prescribed Bachelor of Medical Science Year 3 program at UniSQ to satisfy the requirements of the award.

Exit Awards

Students who successfully complete 8 units and discontinue the program may be eligible to exit with the Diploma of Medical Science (DMSP).

Students who successfully complete 16 units and discontinue the program may be eligible to exit with the Associate Degree of Medical Science (AMSP).
